Treatment for Strabismus

What is Strabismus?

Strabismus is a common condition where the eyes do not align correctly and point in different directions. This misalignment can be constant or intermittent and affects both children and adults. Strabismus can cause double vision, loss of depth perception and, if left untreated, can lead to the development of amblyopia (lazy eye).

At our centre, we approach strabismus with a holistic approach using vision therapy as the main focus. The therapy is a non-invasive and effective method to treat the effects of strabismus.

Treatment and Outcomes for Strabismus

Strategies for treating strabismus depend on each specific case, as they vary according to the cause, severity and age of the patient. The main goal is to achieve optimal vision and correct eye alignment, improving both visual function and cosmetic appearance. In many cases, the use of glasses, patching and guided vision therapy exercises can achieve these results without the need for eye surgery.
